The short version
- No accounts, no ads, no analytics SDKs, and we never sell data.
- Your chat history, calendars, reminders, and contacts stay on your device.
- When you talk to the assistant, your voice and the content of that conversation are processed by OpenAI in real time.
- Our own server only stores anonymous usage counts (how many conversations/searches you've used) tied to a device or subscription identifier.
1. Information our server collects
Schedule Assistant uses a small backend service (hosted on Cloudflare) to manage subscriptions and enforce usage limits. When the app talks to this service, it sends:
- A device identifier — Apple's identifierForVendor, an anonymous ID that identifies your device to us without revealing who you are. It resets if you uninstall all of our apps.
- Your App Store receipt — used solely to verify an active subscription with Apple. From it we keep the original transaction ID (an anonymous subscription identifier issued by Apple).
- Usage counts — the number of AI conversations and web searches you've used in the current day or month, so free-tier and fair-use limits work.
- Your timezone offset — a number of minutes (e.g. +540), used only so daily limits reset at 7:00 AM your local time.
- Web search queries — when you ask the assistant to search the web, the search text is relayed through our server to the search provider (see Third-party services).
None of this includes your name, email address, contacts, precise location, or the content of your conversations.
2. Data processed during AI conversations
The assistant is powered by OpenAI's real-time API. While a conversation is active, the following is transmitted to OpenAI for processing:
- Your voice audio (in voice mode) and your typed messages.
- Voice recordings you transcribe with the microphone button (processed by OpenAI's transcription API).
- Content the assistant works with on your behalf — for example, the events, reminders, contact names/numbers, weather results, or message drafts involved in your request. Only data relevant to the conversation is shared, and only while the session is active.
This processing is what lets the assistant understand you and act. OpenAI processes this data as our service provider under its API terms and privacy policies. We do not store the content of your conversations on our own servers.
3. Data that stays on your device
- Chat history — kept only in memory during an active session and not saved to your device; never stored on our servers.
- Calendars, reminders, alarms, and contacts — read and written through Apple's frameworks on-device. We have no server-side copy.
- Weather location — weather uses Apple WeatherKit directly on your device. Your location is never sent to our servers.
- Session statistics — token usage numbers shown in the app are computed and stored locally.
Deleting the app deletes all of this local data.
4. Device permissions we request
Each permission is requested with the exact explanation shown below, and the app works without any permission you choose not to grant (the related feature is simply unavailable).
| Permission | Why we ask |
|---|---|
| Calendar | To view, create, and manage your events through voice and text commands. |
| Reminders | To create, update, and organize your tasks and to-do lists. |
| Microphone | For voice chat with the AI assistant and voice-to-text transcription. |
| Speech recognition | To transcribe your voice recordings into text for creating events and reminders. |
| Contacts | To find phone numbers and emails when you ask the assistant to text or email someone by name. |
| Location (while using) | To report the weather where you are when you ask the assistant. Processed on-device by Apple WeatherKit. |
| Alarms | To notify you with alarm alerts and Live Activity timers. |
| Camera | Not used. The camera permission is declared only because the WebRTC framework we use for real-time audio requires the declaration. The app never requests or accesses your camera. |
5. Third-party services
| Service | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| OpenAI | AI voice/text conversations and transcription | Voice audio, message text, conversation content (see section 2) |
| Tavily | Web search results | Your search query only, relayed through our server — never your identity |
| Apple | App Store purchases (StoreKit), weather (WeatherKit) | Subscription receipts; on-device location for weather |
| Cloudflare | Hosts our backend and this website | Usage counts and identifiers from section 1; standard server logs |
6. What we don't do
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of personal data with data brokers.
- No tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
- No server-side storage of your conversations, calendars, reminders, or contacts.
7. Data retention & deletion
Usage records on our server are kept only as long as needed to operate the service (enforcing limits and verifying subscriptions). Data on your device is removed when you delete the app.
To request deletion of the usage records associated with your device or subscription, email jaewoobyun1@gmail.com from within the app's Support page if possible, and we will delete them within 30 days.
8. Children's privacy
Schedule Assistant is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and its effective date. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or in release notes.
